Help for budding pro photographer in prioritizing upgrade to current camera can you help? - manfrotto got a leg stuck
But only a Sigma SD14 and is fit is the objective lens kit 18-50 mm DC 3.5-5.6. I already get a head and a Manfrotto tripod and a flash decent enough and the Flash Extreme III card. I would like to extend the learning experience and is a study of friends, so I do not really need a study team at the moment included. They have) a whole wack of cash, but the options for expansion are to improve the lens (except one), Get A Grip power (space for two batteries to get a wireless remote control actually buy the Sigma dedicated flash on the camera or maybe a small update. I can not do everything at once, so I want to prioritize the improvements that I can not give ..... any help would be very grateful

Personally, the update is the lens. I have something I tend to want more lenses have more different. I use Canon, I do not know what would be proposed, special purpose, but if you've decided to take pictures, I say get a longer lens, which is about 100 mm or more. I have a 70-300 that I lot of people and the desire for a drink ... but to work outside the studio. The 70-300 works well in the studio. (besides the kit lenses are usually not so great ...) that's always what I would do!
ReplyDeleteWas in the wonderful world of photography, 35mm film, with a focal length between 85 mm and 105 mm as an "ideal" portrait lens. By a factor of "culture" from 1.7 to 50 mm lens equivalent to 85mm one on my camera. Therefore, IMO, you should look for the fastest 50mm lens (F1.4 or F1.7), and use it for portraits. If you can not find this book. It seems that Sigma does not offer ultra-fast lens from 50 mm to 50 mm f2.8 macro. I hesitate with a macro lens for portraits, because they show the imperfections of the skin in detail.
ReplyDeleteMany, many people use a zoom and is fine, but - rarely zooms faster than the normally f2.8 and realistic price, very fast. The existence of two additional stations in the Employment (F1.4, F2) can be very useful, better in certain lighting conditions and in the dark background to isolate the problem. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, you may have no choice but to choose a "fast" (f2.8) zoom.
The lens is very important. You can use a top line camera and a lens of shit and then you go to the photos.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if you do not blink, then you need a good one. Get your own Flash is your best option. Consider a rebound Omni Stofer (or similar) as well.
Then, place a premium lens on your list. 24-70 The zoom range is very popular and manages a large number of situations. Find a constant aperture lens (f-stop is the same for all, as in telecommunications).
Next I get a grip, but you can not live without, more comfort.
The remote is nice, but I did it at the end of the list. You can get a long time, without simply because they are in line with the tripod and use a timer. I had one for several cameras, and only rarely with the remote. Most of the time, you can really live without them when you travel to work in the countryside, where you want to be physically Awar camera.
